What is FLAT doing?

"FLAT is using humor as a weapon," says Douglas Ruden, honorary FLAT member. "They always maintain that fiction, that they really believe this stuff. They want people to take it seriously. FLAT wants to make the point that this is where we are heading."

FLAT’s membership is an unlikely group to be spouting religious doctrine. Kimball is a science fiction writer. Other members include members of the University of Kansas faculty.

"We want to bait the creationists," said Ruden. "It has been very effective, because it is so outlandish that people do not know what to think. We have received a lot of press attention."
